Dunk Low sizing: if you already know your Jordan 1 size, is the Dunk the same? Or half down? And why does everyone say SB Dunks are different, when they look nearly identical?

Think of it like two houses on the same plot: same footprint, different walls. There is more detail in [Bape Sta sizing](https://superreps.net/t/bape-sta-sizing-true-to-size-like-an-af1-or-half-down-and-the-patent-leather-crease-question/303). What’s different inside?

Most reports say: **Dunk Low = your Jordan 1 size** for most feet. Same family of shoe, similar length.

The differences are in width and padding:

- The Dunk Low toe box feels a little lower and snugger than many people expect.
- Compared with an Air Force 1, the Dunk feels narrower.

For the Jordan 1 Low side, the [AJ1 Low sizing thread](https://superreps.net/t/rep-jordan-1-low-sizing-tts-or-half-size-down/76) has the details.

TL;DR: same size as your Jordan 1, unless your feet are wide.

Compared with the Jordan 1 retail reference, the main reported difference is the toe box height. Wide or high-volume feet tend to feel it in the Dunk first. Those people often go half up, rather than half down.

Half _down_ comes up mostly from people with narrow feet who find the Dunk slightly long.

And SB Dunks? Where’s the difference?

TL;DR: the tongue.

SB Dunks typically have a thick, padded “fat” tongue and a padded insole. Both take up volume inside the shoe. So the same labelled size can feel snugger over the top of the foot, even though the length is the same.

Like a room with thicker insulation, same walls, less space. Most reports: same size, but expect a snugger fit; some with high insteps go half up.

Good point on the insole. Also batch matters: the [Dunk Low batch thread](https://superreps.net/t/dunk-low-entry-level-vs-top-tier-batch/179) mentions that toe box shape varies between tiers, and a lower toe box makes the fit feel tighter.

One disagreement with the “Dunks run small” claim you see around. In most reports they don’t run _short_. They feel _tight_ in the toe box and across the top. Length and volume are different problems, and the fix is different: lacing looser helps volume, nothing helps length.

So, for wide feet, half up. For narrow, maybe half down. For everyone else, Jordan 1 size?

Exactly. Summary:

**Dunk Low**

- Default: same size as your Jordan 1.
- Wide or high-volume feet: consider half up (toe box is low and snug; narrower than an AF1).
- Narrow feet that find it slightly long: half down is sometimes reported.

**SB Dunk**

- Same length; padded tongue and insole make it snugger on top.
- High insteps: half up is common. Otherwise, same size and loosen the lacing.

**Length vs volume**

- Too tight on top → looser lacing, thinner socks, or half up.
- Too short → half up. Nothing else fixes length.

**How to ask:** post your foot length in mm and a size that fits you in Jordan 1 or AF1, as the [sizing guide](https://superreps.net/t/sneaker-sizing-fit-guide/113) suggests.

Good summary. Same footprint, thicker walls.
