Fit check thread, open format. A look a lot of people are chasing: **boxy hoodie, wide-leg pants, chunky sneakers.** It’s also the easiest fit to get wrong. Owners compare notes on this in [the thread on Vetements-style oversized hoodies](https://superreps.net/t/sweats-oversize-facon-vetements-juger-un-fit-volontairement-trop-grand/223). One size off and it reads as “borrowed clothes”.

Post your fit below. Here’s the kind of shot that makes feedback easy:

Start with the shoulder seam. It should drop a few cm past the natural shoulder. Halfway down the bicep is too big, not oversized.

Then proportion. Two wide volumes stacked need one point of definition: a cuff that sits at the wrist, a hem that ends at the hip rather than mid-thigh, or a visible shoe. Without it, the silhouette becomes a rectangle.

I love this kind of thread! What about colours? Sometimes all black and wide just looks like a sack. 😅

</div>

Valid. Tonal fits need texture to work: a heavy fleece next to a nylon or denim pant. Same colour, different surfaces.

</div>

Totally. And you can see texture in the fabric: a heavy fleece hoodie hangs straight, while a thin one clings to the body and wrinkles. That changes the whole silhouette.

Sleeves too. On oversized hoodies they often run long. A little stack at the cuff looks intentional. Sleeves covering the hands look like a mistake.

</div>

If the sleeves or body are too long, both are easy alterations: shorten the sleeve above the cuff and re-attach the rib, or crop the body and re-attach the waistband.

And the pants? I feel like that’s where it falls apart for most people.

Leg opening and length. Wide legs should break once or twice on the shoe, not drag on the ground. Check the inseam measurement before ordering.

Ok, the fit check rubric for this look, from everyone above:

**1. Shoulder:** drop a few cm past your shoulder. Halfway to the elbow = size down.

**2. Hoodie length:** around the hip. Mid-thigh = too long for wide pants.

**3. Sleeves:** a little stack at the wrist, hands visible.

[[PHOTO: close-up of hoodie cuff stacking at the wrist with the hand visible]]

**4. Pants:** wide leg, one or two breaks on the shoe, no dragging.

**5. One point of definition:** cuff, hem or shoe. Something has to stop the rectangle.

**6. Tonal fits:** same colour, different textures (heavy fleece + nylon or denim).

**7. Too long anywhere?** Sleeves and body are easy, quick alterations.

Post fits with a front, side and back view and we’ll rate them against this. 🔥

Perfect! I’m writing down the “one point of definition” bit. 💛

A rubric that would survive a design studio critique. Approved.
