An older streetwear staple: the Tri-Ferg hoodie. The rep comparisons from back then are a good example of comparing versions by construction rather than by name. What separated them?

From those threads, the versions split mainly on three points:

- ✔/✖ blank weight
- ✔/✖ collar thickness
- ✔/✖ print alignment and size of the triangle

And who won? Which one did people pick? 🔺

The most recommended version back then was praised for heavy, good-quality fabric and a solid logo. One flag: the logo slightly small.

The version that was advised against for hoodies: ✖ blanks too thin, ✖ thin collar, ✖ Tri-Ferg print off-centre or misaligned.

</div>

The collar is a good indicator of tier: a thick rib with double topstitching keeps its shape; a thin one warps after a few washes. We saw it in the tee tier thread too.

</div>

And the logo itself is geometric, which makes misalignment obvious. A triangle that’s slightly rotated reads wrong immediately, in a way a script logo wouldn’t.

</div>

So the comparison logic is basically the same as our tee tier thread?

</div>

Pretty much. How I’d test it: blank against the light, collar between two fingers, and a ruler from collar seam to the top of the triangle.

Comparison table from the old reports:

| Point | Recommended version | Advised-against version |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Blank | heavy, good quality | too thin |
| Collar | solid | thin |
| Print | solid; slightly small | off-centre, misaligned |

[[PHOTO: Tri-Ferg hoodie on a flat lay with a ruler from collar seam to the top of the triangle print]]

**QC requests for any geometric-logo hoodie:**

- ✔ front flat lay with a ruler (print size and placement)
- ✔ collar close-up
- ✔ weight

**Caveat:** these are older versions. The comparison method still works; the versions themselves belong to that period.

Method over names. Marking it, thanks.
