Few bags tell the story of an idea like Prada’s nylon. It all begins with Miuccia Prada’s Vela backpack, in Pocone nylon, a technical, water-resistant material: a “humble” fabric turned into a sign of discreet, slightly nonconformist luxury. The Re-Edition was later relaunched in Re-Nylon, a regenerated nylon, and at that point the replica community talked about it a great deal. What a lovely way in. The “everything you need to know” thread on RepLadies was the reference back then. The headline point: the shape should be rounded and slightly slouchy, not stiff and angular. ---

Second point from that thread, high confidence: the metal triangle. It should be centred and aligned with the saffiano triangle behind it. Low, crooked or shifted left was called a major giveaway. ---

And the pouch: smooth, not lumpy. Inside, the text should read “Prada Made in Italy”. Pass or fail, easy to check in PSP. ---

Yes, and those reviews didn’t fully agree. Some factory versions were praised for shape, others called too angular. Flag: low confidence on any single factory verdict from that period. ---
