There’s no QC thread for the XT-6 here yet. Suggested order, always against the official product photos of that exact colourway: 1. Overall shape from the side: midsole height, heel line. 2. Overlays and mesh: clean edges, colour blocks as on the original. 3. Quicklace: speed lacing, cord lock, pocket in the tongue. 4. Outsole: tread and lettering. 5. Logos on the tongue and heel. An often overlooked detail: many colourways are multicoloured, and that’s exactly where shifted colour blocks show first. What’s missing from the list? A question first: what exactly should you check on the Quicklace? And how can you tell whether the pocket in the tongue is cleanly made? ---

Short verdict: the Quicklace is easy to check, its function only partly. wildleder\_detektiv’s list works as a template. Details: the thin cord should run evenly through the eyelets, the cord lock should be cleanly made and labelled as on the original, and the pocket at the top of the tongue, where the lock and cord end disappear, should be stitched straight. Whether the lock holds over time, no photo shows; a short video of tightening and releasing helps. ---

On the chassis and outsole: according to the manufacturer, the XT-6 has a chassis system between the midsole and upper and a Contagrip outsole. In photos you mainly check shapes and edges here: the chassis pieces on the sides of the heel should sit symmetrically, the glue lines between midsole and upper should be clean, and the outsole tread should be sharply moulded. So far, then: shape first, then overlays and mesh, the Quicklace with pocket and lock, chassis and outsole via edges and tread. Methodically it’s similar to the [Gel-Kayano 14 thread](https://superreps.net/t/gel-kayano-14-gel-1130-qc-overlays-mesh-gel-window-silver/358): lots of overlays, lots of mesh, so lots of edges to compare. How do you deal with colours that look different in every photo? ---

One more question: is it worth asking for photos of the inside of the tongue? That’s where the labels are. ---

1. Colours: judge them only in daylight and compare with the official photos of the same colourway, not with other QC sets. 2. Inside labels: yes, clean text, stitched in straight. 3. For the general approach, the [9060 QC thread](https://superreps.net/t/new-balance-9060-qc-what-the-photos-show/346) (originally written in German) also helps. By the way: a mesh with an irregular-looking texture can be intentional; check the original first. ---

Summary, everything against the official photos of the same colourway in daylight: 1. **Shape** : side view at sole level, midsole and heel line. 2. **Overlays and mesh** : clean edges, colour blocks in the right place; judge the mesh texture only against the original. 3. **Quicklace** : cord running evenly, clean lock, tongue pocket stitched straight; function on video. 4. **Chassis and outsole** : symmetrical pieces at the heel, clean glue lines, sharp tread. 5. **Logos and labels** : tongue, heel and inside. 6. **Not checkable from photos** : grip, cushioning, durability.
