There’s no QC thread on the Sea-Dweller yet. Key facts for the 126600: 43 mm Oystersteel case, black Cerachrom bezel, water resistant to 1,220 m according to the manufacturer, calibre 3235. It was introduced in 2017 for the Sea-Dweller’s 50th anniversary, with two features no Sea-Dweller had before: the “Sea-Dweller” line in red and the Cyclops lens over the date.

Those two details are exactly the easiest to check on QC photos, plus the helium escape valve on the side of the case.

The red lettering:

- an even red, not orange and not washed out;
- sharp letters, all the same height, centred under the text above;
- the same distance to the centre of the hands as on reference photos of the original.
On an angled photo the spacing always looks wrong, so ask for a shot taken straight on.

Cyclops: the date should fill the lens well and sit exactly centred under it. A date that has slipped up or down in the lens is obvious straight away. How strong the magnification looks also depends on the angle, though, so again: a photo taken straight on.

**Helium valve:** at 9 o’clock on the case flank, cleanly set in, sharp engraving.
**Bezel:** numerals and scale evenly filled, lume pip at 12 centred.
**Lume:** ask for a photo in the dark after a short charge, all indices roughly equally bright.

Quick question: if a rep has a helium valve, does that mean you can dive with it?

No. On photos, the valve on a rep is a visual detail; it says nothing about water resistance. What a pressure test means and what it doesn’t is in [Swimming with a rep dive watch](https://superreps.net/t/rep-diver-swimming-pressure-test-water-resistance-gaskets/101). If you want to compare the helium valve: [Seamaster Diver 300M QC](https://superreps.net/t/seamaster-diver-300m-qc-wave-dial-helium-valve-ceramic-bezel/407), where it sits differently and can be operated.

On the bracelet: Oyster bracelet with an Oysterlock clasp and Glidelock extension, plus the Fliplock extension link. On photos: end links flush, Glidelock rail cleanly made, logo on the clasp sharp. General points are in [Oyster and Jubilee bracelets on reps](https://superreps.net/t/oyster-jubilee-bracelet-rep-qc-clasp-glidelock-easylink-end-links/352).

Summary:

1. Red “Sea-Dweller” lettering: deep red, sharp, correctly placed, photo taken straight on.
2. Cyclops: date centred under the lens and filling it well.
3. Helium valve at 9 o’clock: cleanly set in, sharp engraving; it is no proof of water resistance.
4. Bezel and lume: evenly filled and evenly bright, respectively.
5. Bracelet: end links flush, Glidelock and clasp clean.
Not checkable on photos: water resistance and timekeeping.

Agreed. Points 1 and 2 are the two features that identify the 126600 at first glance.
