# Sky-Dweller QC: the month windows, the Ring Command bezel and the jubilee, what to check

It is, and it’s also easy to over-read from a phone photo. Here is the checklist this thread ends up with, split into what the original does and what to check on a rep.

**How the original works** (per [rolex.com](https://www.rolex.com/watches/sky-dweller) and the [Sky-Dweller user guide](https://content.rolex.com/dam/media/user-guides/sky-dweller/rolex_sky-dweller_en_us.pdf))

- **Saros annual calendar** : tells 30-day from 31-day months by itself and needs one correction a year, on 1 March ([Rolex, Saros](https://www.rolex.com/watchmaking/features/movements/saros)). The month shows in one of 12 windows, January at 1 o’clock.
- **Ring Command bezel** : turns both ways; neutral at 12, calendar at 11, local time at 10, reference time at 9 ([Rolex, Ring Command](https://www.rolex.com/watchmaking/features/bezels/ring-command)).
- **Two time zones** : local time on the centre hands, reference time on the off-centre 24h disc against a fixed triangle. Setting local time jumps the hour hand only.

**What to check on a rep**

- **Month apertures** : even spacing, each centred on its hour marker, highlight fully inside one window. Check 12, 3, 6 and 9 first.
- **24h disc** : crisp numerals, disc centred in its cutout. Ask for a photo with local and reference time set the same.
- **Ring Command bezel** : decide from a video, not a photo. A rep may or may not reproduce the function. If the listing says it works, ask to see each position and what the crown changes.
- **Month change** : whether a rep’s calendar handles 30- and 31-day months like the original is not verified. Only a video, or the first month-end on the wrist, tells you whether it advances.
- **Date and Cyclops** : date centred under the lens, magnification similar to the genuine.
- **Bracelet** : polish on Jubilee centre links, clasp engraving and wobble, end link gap from the side.
- **Tool-based alignment checks** help with the dial, but have limits on a dial this busy: see [QC alignment tools and apps](https://superreps.net/t/rep-watch-qc-alignment-tool-what-it-can-check/298).

If the photos pass and the video shows the functions you expected, that’s as far as QC can take you on this model.
