# Tank Must: AF, K11 or F1? The Tank Must is probably the most sought-after dress watch right now. A simple shape, Roman numerals, nothing to hide… so every flaw shows. I’ve read a lot of reviews of the three versions that keep coming up: AF, K11 and F1. Let’s sort through them, if you don’t mind. Rispondo in inglese. Recurring issues by factory, from the reviews: - **AF** : dials reported slightly rotated, and some crown issues. - **K11** : misaligned printing on the III numeral in some early examples, said to be corrected in later production. - **F1** : crisp printing and heat-blued hands praised. Criticised for a sunken pinion and a bevelled crown. Confidence: medium. Mostly single reviews. ---

Heat-blued hands on a Tank are a lovely touch. That deep blue is part of the Cartier vocabulary. ---

Absolutely. And Roman numerals forgive nothing: one misaligned III and the whole dial looks crooked. ---

But isn’t it a small watch where most flaws are near-microscopic? One review basically said nobody will notice at arm’s length. ---

That’s true, and it’s an honest point. But a dress watch gets looked at up close, under the shirt cuff. That’s where the details matter. ---

On movements: the current Tank Must is a quartz watch in the original. It makes sense to check which movement is fitted in each version. ---

Exactly. And the crown with its cabochon: given the flaw reported on the F1, it’s worth asking for a profile photo for all three. ---

If you’ll allow an English summary, gathered from the reviews: **AF** - Watch for: slightly rotated dial, crown issues. **K11** - Watch for: misaligned III in early examples (reported fixed later). **F1** - Praised: crisp printing, heat-blued hands. - Watch for: sunken pinion, bevelled crown. **For all three, in QC photos** 1. Is the dial straight relative to the case? 2. Are the Roman numerals evenly printed, especially III, VI and IX? 3. Crown and cabochon: shape and how it sits. Post a straight-on photo of the dial so the alignment of the Roman numerals can be checked. A profile shot of the crown and cabochon helps too. None of them is flawless. Pick the one whose weak point you’re least likely to notice.
