Reports by batch, from the release-era threads: - **GQ:** generally considered strongest for colour, shape and embossing. Recurring flags: suede slightly dark, reverse swoosh a little low. Minor. - **GT:** strong at first, then inconsistent: dark colour, swoosh placement, low 3M logo. - **GD:** suede and build praised; shape not hourglass enough, reverse swoosh slightly low. ---

Seen from behind, a Jordan 1 heel narrows in the middle and widens above and below, like an hourglass. It’s one of the oldest shape tests: people were already looking at it in the first QCs of this model. ---

And the reverse swoosh height affects on-feet photos most, because it’s the first thing the eye reads from the side. A low swoosh makes the panel above it look too big. ---

From the on-feet threads of that period: the swoosh height and the suede colour. The 3M logo and embossing show up mostly in close-ups. ---

In those reports, yes. Later threads named other batches for this colourway. Different era. ---

Résumé: **Community picture back then (TS J1 High):** | Batch | Praised | Flags | | --- | --- | --- | | GQ | colour, shape, embossing | suede slightly dark, swoosh a bit low | | GT | strong early pairs | later inconsistent: dark colour, swoosh placement, low 3M logo | | GD | suede, build | shape not hourglass enough, swoosh slightly low | **What matters on feet:** reverse swoosh height and suede colour. Close-up details (3M logo, embossing) matter less in normal photos. If you have a pair, post an on-feet side view at ankle height so the reverse swoosh position shows. **Caveat:** these are old reports about older batches. Batch names and quality moved on later. ---
