We have a Bape Sta sizing thread but nothing on QC. The shoe is simple in shape, a low-top cupsole, with three points that dominate any photo:
- The patent leather upper, which reflects everything.
- The shooting-star “STA” motif on the side.
- The heel, with its branding.
The patent leather makes photos tricky, so it is worth agreeing on what to look at.

Editorial summary, not independently verified.
Shape / Materials / Stitching / Labels.
- Shape: low toe box, flat profile. Compare both shoes from the side.
- Materials: patent leather even in shine, no cloudy patches or bubbles.
- Stitching: the star outline stitched evenly, no wobbles at the points.
- Labels: tongue label straight and centred.
Verdict first: the star is the most important part. Its points should be sharp and evenly shaped, the tail sweeping back cleanly, and it should sit at the same height and angle on both shoes. Small differences in the exact shine are not a flaw, a star that sits crooked is.

Wait, so the reflections in my QC pics: are those scratches or just the lamp?? Hard to tell!
- Ask for a second photo from a slightly different angle.
- If the “mark” moves, it is a reflection.
- If it stays in the same place, it is on the leather.
- Avoid flash for patent leather: it creates hot spots that look like flaws.

The heel branding and the sole edge, 7/10 importance: logo centred, sole edge even all the way round with no thick glue lines. The shape is close to a classic low basketball shoe, so a lot of the reasoning from White Air Force 1 and top-tier batches applies. Fit and creasing are covered in Bape Sta sizing, not here.
Verdict: star first, reflections second, sole edge third.
- Star: sharp points, clean tail, same height and angle on both shoes.
- Patent leather: even shine, no bubbles; check marks with a second angle before calling them flaws.
- Sole edge: even, no thick glue lines.
- Heel and tongue: branding centred, label straight.
- No flash for patent leather.

Pro: the second-angle trick works for any glossy shoe. Con: none. Good list.
