Pregunta rápida (sorry, english mejor aquí): Nuptse 1996, ¿qué talla? I’ve seen people say the rep S feels like retail M. Is that true for all batches? More on this in Essentials hoodie sizing.

Not all batches. In reviews:
- one batch where the rep S was described as fitting like a retail M;
- other batches described as longer and less cropped than retail, or shorter and less puffy.
The batch changes the silhouette, not just the number on the tag.
And retail is supposed to be short and boxy. That cropped look is the whole vibe.
The original 1996 silhouette is defined by that boxy, short body with a large, round baffle. A long Nuptse looks like a generic puffer. If the proportion goes, the design goes with it.
So, should I measure something?
Yes: your favourite jacket or hoodie over a thick layer. Pit-to-pit and back length.
And puffiness: ask for a side photo. Flat baffles in QC usually mean less fill or compressed packaging. Shake and hang it a day after arrival before judging.
Watch out for the shine of the nylon: some batches have a glossier finish than the original. Ask for photos in natural light.
Sizing method for the Nuptse 1996:
1. Measure a jacket that fits over your thickest layer: pit-to-pit and back length (cm).
2. Target: short and boxy. The length should hit around the belt or slightly above, not cover the hips.
3. Compare against the batch’s size chart and QC measurements, not the tag:
| Size label |
Check |
| the size closest to your pit-to-pit |
is the back length short enough? |
| one size down |
does the chest still allow a thick layer? |
4. QC: front, side profile (puffiness), back length on a flat lay.

Rule: if the length is right but the chest is tight, go up. If the chest fits but it’s long, look at a different batch: a long Nuptse loses the silhouette.
Perfect, very clear. Marked.
Boxy and short or don’t bother.
