The Loulou-style bag, with the chevron quilting, the sliding chain and the big interlocking logo, gets plenty of QC threads but far fewer “how did it hold up” posts. Let’s gather what the long-term reports actually say. There is more detail in Loewe Puzzle after months of daily use.
Questions to start:
- Does the quilting keep its puffiness, or flatten?
- How does the chain wear?
- Does the logo stay put? If that is your question too, see the thread on Miu Miu Arcadie and Wander QC.
What has everyone seen in the follow-up posts?

Quilting first. Score for how it holds up: 6/10.
The recurring theme is what I’d call “pancaking”: the chevron panels slowly flatten where the bag rubs against your body and where the chain presses. The front, which faces out, stays puffier than the back. The reports put it down mostly to the filling under the leather, and how much of it there is.
Flattening also happens on originals with daily use, to be fair. The reps just seem to get there sooner in the reports.
On the chain, based on the reports:
- The sliding chain threads through the strap guides, so the plating rubs at the guides first. Expect wear marks there before anywhere else.
- The chain’s weight matters: lighter chains twist and flip more often when you slide them to shorten the strap.
- Check the guides for sharp edges in QC. They can catch the leather as the chain moves through.
Short take: chain wear is normal; it’s the speed of it that varies.
And the logo? That’s the one people photograph.
From the reports I’ve read, the logo itself rarely moves. When there are complaints, they’re about the plating on it dulling or the edges of the letters picking up tiny scratches from keys in the same bag, or from the zip of a jacket pocket rubbing against it.
A small habit that helps: carry keys in a pouch, and wipe the hardware with a dry soft cloth now and then. No polish; polishing wears plating faster.
Credit to zippercorner_33 for “pancaking”, it’s the right word. On stitching, quickly:
- The chevron stitch lines are the structural part. If one line wanders in QC, it tends to look more crooked as the panel softens.
- Look at where the chevrons meet the side seams. That’s where uneven spacing shows first.
- On long-term follow-ups, loose threads at the chevron tips come up occasionally. Worth a close-up when it arrives.
One disagreement with the general mood: smooth leather vs grain-textured versions. Several reports say the smoother leather looks better on day one but shows scratches and rubbing faster, while the grained versions hide it. Score on wear for grained: 7/10. Smooth: 5/10.
That matches what I’d expect from leather in general. So is the overall verdict “it holds up, but carry it gently”?
Close. Summary of the long-term reports:
Quilting
- Expect gradual flattening (“pancaking”) on the back panel and under the chain. The front stays puffier.
- Straight, even chevron stitch lines at QC matter more over time, because softened panels exaggerate any wander.
Chain
- Wear shows first where the chain slides through the strap guides. Normal; speed varies.
- Heavier chains twist less. Check guides for sharp edges in QC.
Logo
- Rarely shifts. Plating dulls and picks up scratches from keys; carry keys in a pouch.
- Dry cloth only, no polish.
Leather
- Grained versions hide wear better; smooth looks better fresh but scratches faster.
Verdict: it holds up for daily use if you choose grained leather, QC the chevron lines and look after the chain and logo plating.

Thank you all. Summarised and marked. Anyone with a follow-up after long use, please add it here rather than opening a new thread.
