Hi!
The Book Tote is all embroidery, so QC is almost a game of “spot the difference”. In the old threads there was already a reference with the Oblique and Toile de Jouy prints, and lots of QCs came out afterwards.
What did people look at back then, and what still holds? Let’s make the list!
Related threads: Dior Saddle QC: the CD on the flap, the D charm and the embroidered strap, Lady Dior: God factory or Angel factory? Cannage, leather and consistency and Mini bags magnify every flaw: why tiny Kelly, Lady Dior and Chiquito-style reps are harder than they look.
The most specific of the older QC threads, high confidence on these:
- “Christian Dior” shouldn’t be too tall.
- The stripe shouldn’t be oversized.
- “Paris” needs the curved “A”.
- A “P” that’s too high or too thin is a red flag.
And another older thread adds alignment: the logo must be level, the Oblique pattern straight, and the stitching not wavy. Pass if level. Fail if the pattern slopes.
That’s so much lettering to check.
It is, darling, but it’s all visible in PSP. That’s the good news.
If you only care about one thing: the lettering proportions. That’s what people notice first.
And embroidery collects dust and stains. Clean gently with a soft brush. Test any product on a hidden spot first.
What about now? Recent QC threads found clean alignment and embroidery generally acceptable, with minor differences only in close-ups. So the old checklist still works.
Book Tote QC:
Lettering (older QC thread)
- “Christian Dior” not too tall. Fail if clearly oversized.
- Stripe not oversized. Check.
- “Paris” with a curved “A”. Fail if not.
- “P” not too high or too thin. Fail if it is.
Alignment (older thread)
5. Logo level. Fail if sloped.
6. Oblique pattern straight. Fail if it slopes.
7. Stitching even, not wavy. Check.
Recent threads: alignment and embroidery generally acceptable, minor differences only in close-ups.

The versions in the older threads may no longer be made. The checklist still applies.
